Doll Costume - The Witch Doctor

Hello owls,

Today I will show you a new costume for my dolls and I will uncover a little bit of the project I'm currently working on. In short - I am preparing a "photo novel" for my blog. The story will unravel in a medieval fantasy setting and I can bet you it will be quite intriguing…. or at least I think so.

The costume I’m showing today is important for the story. As usual almost everything that he is wearing is handmade by me – from the robe to the mask of the doctor. The only items that are not crafted are the boots and the bag. The boots are the original ones “Porter Geiss from Haunted Monster High” comes with and the bag I got from a gift shop (I just glued the handles).



Short story of the character:
Name: Samu Alsier
Position: Doctor and Head advisor to the Queen
Age: 26

Samu Alsier is the head advisor of queen Moriadne Silverpine. Born and raised in a poor family of farmers, at an early age his skin became the current distinct green he is known for after suffering a poisoning. He lost his mother over this ordeal as she was not able to take in the fact of what her son had become. This earned him his fathers’ hatred and banishment to live in the abandoned barn. Everyone from his village feared him and the word about the boy with the green skin spread like a wild fire through the country. Doctors from near and far came to try and cure his strange condition and all of them were amazed and puzzled but none found a cure. While his treatments were ongoing, Samu took an interest in the science of medicine and tried to lead as much as he can from the doctors. During one such visit from the royal apothecary, Samu managed to convince him to become his apprentice. He showed a great talent and learned everything that can be learned. After his teacher passed away he took his place in the palace.
Samu is smart, cunning and very skilled in diplomacy. Queen Moriadne took him for her head advisor after he saved her little sister Artemia Silverpine from an assassination attempt with poison. There is a rumor in the royal courtyard that Samu is researching black magic and some think that he is using questionable methods for healing. Almost everyone are afraid of him and don’t understand why queen Moriadne trusts in his judgement.

International women's day - Doll store

Hello owls,

    Today I will show you my doll store. This was my second doll related craft project ever. It's not perfect, but I was learning how to do stuff like this. I've used it in previous pictures, like my doll veterinary clinic. I've built it with the idea of using it in different set ups. I love the bright colors and the floor tiles, they are made from different cardboard colors with texture and I think they turned out great.

    Today the store is selling flowers because of the "International women's day". In the first picture my hubby is buying a flower bouquet for me. The rest of the pictures are my handmade flower pots and flowers.

New Outfit- Skirt jumpsuit

Hello Owls,

Today I will show you the new outfits I've crafted for my dolls.
Silvi is wearing a blue top with a long black skirt.
I really love stretchy materials and prefer to use old t-shirts or tops.
The blouse is modified t-shirt pattern for dolls. I sew everything on hand, because I need to learn how to use properly my sewing machine. I love how everything turned out.

Barbie is wearing green blouse and a black mini skirt jumpsuit. She is my niece doll, but for now I take care of her. Let's call her Izabella or Bella for short. I think they look very modern and classy at the same time. Wanted to pair the green outfit with a hat, but I don't have any at the moment and was too lazy to make one.

My Dolls Studio-Apartment

Hello owls,

Today I will show you the studio- apartment from our Christmas dinner and its' renovated kitchen corner. For starters let me say that the studio is built from scratch by me, using recycled cardboard, recycled paper, old clothes and rugs, small toys from chocolate eggs and that’s about all. The kitchen corner is completely made of barbie doll furniture.

Going in details about the kitchen renovation I want to say that I faced a lot of difficulties and it took me a long time to finish that mini project. I think it took me about four to five days, with several hours per day worth of effort. The furniture was repainted with five layers of paint and one layer of mod podge. Unfortunately when cleaning the plastic windows, they got a bit deteriorated by the chemical I was using for paint cleaning. This led to the necessity of doing the “glass painting” that is seen on the pictures.

The idea of this household is to be compact, easy to navigate, move around and reorder while it still has all the needed items for my dolls to live a real normal life in it. A big idea behind this renovation was to remove the stereotypical and unrealistic pink that comes with a lot of barbie items, while it is still colorful and interesting.
